This is just a random congloberation (made-up word there) of all the helpful books and websites and such that make my writing a lot more fun.

Here, you can legit write a book. You have the whole month of November to write 50000 words of your very own novel. It's really quite fun. And crazy.

This is almost the same thing. The only differences are that this happens in April and July, you can choose whatever kind of writing project you want to do, and you can decide your own word count. Equally fun. Equally crazy.

Another really similar program. It's like the normal NaNoWriMo in that it happens every November, but it's like Camp NaNoWriMo in that you get to make your own word count. I don't actively participate in this one, but I love the Dare Machine on the home page.

Just something I found recently. When I'm trying to write a song for a musical or whatnot, this saves me lots of time and cheesy rhymes.
Writing Fiction For Dummies by Peter Economy and Randy Ingermanson
This was one of the best birthday presents I've ever received. Sometimes I read it just for pleasure. It's written assuming you want to get your writing published for reals, so if that's you, cool! If not, you can do what I do and just kind of skip past those sections.
Live Writing, A Writer's Notebook, and How Writers Work by Ralph Fletcher
More writing books I often read for pleasure. These are the kind of books that I can pick up and read a bit, and then soon I'm itching to get writing. Those are the best.
And lastly...I go to Pinterest and search for writing tips. That gives me everything from one-sentence prompts to pictures I can try to write a scene around. It really works.
Enjoy!
